Hydrothermal Survey
“A true” spa or “a true” center of balneotherapy is not conceived without a natural thermal spring. The “historical” spas exploit natural hydrothermal reservoirs because they presented thermal demonstrations surfaces some which betrayed their in-depth presence. Only, a negligible proportion of hydrothermal reservoirs presents such demonstrations on the surface. Today, thanks to the angiogeoscopy, all the hydrothermal reservoirs like their optimal collecting location, can be detected with precision and in a reliable way. The methods of this service of detection and of maps space hydrothermal reservoirs are specified on this page.
The hydrothermal survey aims at precisely locating hydrothermal reservoirs which produce a natural thermal spring durably presenting stable properties for a use in a spa or a center of balneotherapy.
From a hydrogeological point of view, a hydrothermal reservoir is identical to a geothermal reservoir. The difference lies in the fact that the fluid geological present within a hydrothermal reservoir has, moreover, of the stable therapeutic virtues which it owes, initially with the absence of toxic components (what is not gained in advance in the case of geothermal reservoirs), then with its profile of mineralization.
The hydrothermal reservoirs are much more frequent than it is believed. Only those which betrayed of the thermal demonstrations on the surface one exploited. These thermal demonstrations of surface are due to the fact that one of the water arteries resulting from their exurgence point reaches surface directly, without being “intercepted” by an aquifer. This situation is generally supported by a strong unevenness and is completely exceptional. In the near total of the cases, the water artery flows in an aquifer which thus occults any thermal demonstration on the surface. The angiogeoscopy does not need thermal demonstrations on the surface so that the presence of a hydrothermal reservoir can be supposed and that its optimal collecting location can be detected.
A hydrothermal survey is very similar to a geothermal survey. The same type of approach, conditions and results apply.
The table below synthesizes the characteristics of our service of hydrothermal survey.
Service of hydrothermal survey | |
---|---|
Purpose continued by the client: |
Development and exploitation of a spa or a center of balneotherapy using a natural hot source. |
Particular Conditions: |
There do not exist particular conditions compared to the general terms. The surface of the concession to be explored must be, at least, of a few km2, according to the area where it is located. The regional proximity of other spas can constitute a favorable indication, but is not essential. |
To determine a priori that a geothermal reservoir can be used specifically for the purpose of hydrotherapy or of balneotherapy, we are based on a beam of presumptions rising primarily from empirical considerations. We guarantee the stable character (in physicochemical terms of properties) and durable (in terms of flow) of thermal springs taken on the basis of our specification. “Thermal” name guarantees that it is indeed naturally hot water. We provide following information on the optimal point of exploitation of a hydrothermal reservoir which we would have identified:
Contrary to competition, exploratory drillings do not help us in the search for a locus of collecting well, but are used to prove the existence of this locus of collecting well (with respect to our clients) and to precisely measure what we can only estimate in the course of survey (the depth, the mass throughput, the temperature) or which we are straightforwardly unable to estimate in the actual position of the possibilities of the angiogeoscopy (like the chemical composition, the rate of suspended particles, the presence of non condensablees gas…). The drilling locations which we specify are points of which we guarantee the productive character, therefore exploitable commercially, and optimal compared to hydrogeological criteria. In the contrary case (i.e. so of other drillings, that or those which we specified, is more productive), no fee is due. |
|
Duration: |
One indicative duration is of about a one week under the most favorable conditions. |
Cost and conditions: |
The cost of an angiogeoscopy is negotiated with the client. It depends exclusively on the volume extracted starting from the well from working which we specified. It is not due:
Alternatively, and if a exploratory drilling already were carried out or is in progress, our fees could also be calculated proportionally for the marginal benefit carried out compared to the result got by concurrent explorations. The proportionality factor is obviously not the same one as in the preceding case. |
Deliverable: |
For each angiogeoscopy carried out, we deliver a data sheet taking again all the information collected within the framework of our service of hydrothermal survey (before exploratory drilling). We make sign by our client each one of these data sheets for reception, because those have a contractual value. Our fees - or the absence of those - rise from the data which appear in it. |
Invoicing: |
Our fees are invoicees quarterly on the basis of volume taken during the quarter passed starting from or of the collecting locations which we specified. We thus invoice only after the beginning of the commercial exploitation of the spa or the center of balneotherapy (and in so far as all the conditions of garanteed result that we offer were met). |
Reserves: |
In Addition To the reserves issued for the geothermal survey which also apply to the hydrothermal survey, we can guarantee neither the existence, nor the nature of therapeutic virtues. |
After execution of an angiogeological survey, only one exploratory drilling by exurgence point is enough to collect all the data necessary to the determination of the hydrothermal potential of a water bearing site.
